Green eFuels Producers Holdings’ strategy unlocks long-term environmental, economic, and social benefits while positioning Southern Africa as a competitive supplier in the global green fuel economy.
Green eFuels Producers (GeFP) is an innovative South African project developer spearheading the production and export of green methanol as part of a green (re)industrialisation drive. Anchored in Gauteng, South Africa’s economic powerhouse, GeFP has selected the province as the launchpad for scaling the Green Methanol Corridor, a regional initiative aimed at connecting green methanol production hubs with global offtake markets.
The majority of the green methanol will be exported to regulated markets, where climate policies incentivize premium pricing for sustainable fuel alternatives. GeFP’s integrated model uniquely combines renewable energy, carbon capture, and circular resource use, leveraging sewage sludge as feedstock to recover water and recycle CO₂ within the hybrid PtX/BtX production process. This approach not only reduces emissions but transforms problematic waste into value, reinforcing the corrido’s alignment with South Africa’s Just Energy Transition.
